Bake has become an alter-ego, a way in which to push creative expression to its absolute limits, far beyond traditional artistic methods into unexpected realms– including tattooing.

Bake’s vision is to create unique pieces and projects, based on the principles of quality, craftsmanship and excellence without compromise.

The process of collaboration is about concept, reference and design – and realising a clear direction based on the theme of the project. The entire process begins with you, your story, your concept and references. The final product is always informed by whether you want something with meaning or something entirely aesthetic. Ultimately, Bake’s vision is to create unique pieces and projects, based on the principles of quality, craftsmanship and excellence without compromise.

Collaborating with Baked Ink

Concept

Start by taking the time to think about the story of you, the story of your tattoo project.Focus on the underlying intention behind the tattoo you would like to get before looking for reference images. Once you have established a clear purpose and conceptual direction, we can move on to referencing.
Reference

It is critical to have complete clarity with your concept, as opposed to simply relying on references. With focused research, together artist and client will go through many images during the first session, honing in on the elements of your tattoo design.
Design

After we have reviewed the concept and established the references, the design process begins. The composition is always first and foremost dictated by the form and space of the skin where the tattoo will live. Details such as style and flow will always be discussed in person, during the session, because each piece and part of the concept is unique and subjective to you, the client.
Journey

The process of tattooing is a journey. Once concept, reference and design is fully realised, the journey truly begins – it requires commitment to quality, patience and the pursuit of excellence. Each session that follows is a cherished next step, wherein we both work hard to make the concept come to life.
